Identifying Ratsroof-rat

  • 7 – 9 inches in length
  • Brown to reddish-grey fur
  • Black eyes and a pointed muzzle
  • Hairless tail
  • Primarily nocturnal
  • Most commonly discovered by droppings or damage to food items
  • Occasional sightings or sounds in the walls and or ceilings
  • Reproduction begins at 5 weeks of age, 22 day gestation period with litters of 6 – 10
  • Multiple litters per year
